The 23-year-old artist&#8217;s latest single, &#8216;Angel&#8217;, showcases her production know-how, taking cues from artists like Princess Nokia, Ashnikko and Baby Keem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ferby&#8217;s music is indebted to trap, but possesses a DIY genre agnosticism. She was the first musician I ever listened to heavily. Her album <em>Breakout<\/em> had a huge impact on me. I would secretly make embarrassing cover videos and dance along to it all day in my bedroom. This album is drenched in nostalgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe style=\"--aspect-ratio:16\/9;border-radius:12px\" src=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/embed\/album\/0Yu3czJNOQ68fZgkvpjuHL?utm_source=generator\" width=\"100%\" height=\"352\" frameBorder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Paramore: <em>Brand New Eyes<\/em> (2009)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ferby:<\/strong> After my rockstar Miley Cyrus era, I progressed into being obsessed with <a href=\"https:\/\/musicfeeds.com.au\/feeds\/paramore\/\">Paramore<\/a> as an emo early teen. <em>Brand New Eyes<\/em> definitely hit me the most. My days were filled with trying to play &#8216;The Only Exception&#8217; on guitar and thinking about Hayley Williams. I dyed my fuzzy, curly hair red, which looked horrible, and wore knee-high Converse shoes (which also looked horrible). But there&#8217;s something sweet about that to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe style=\"--aspect-ratio:16\/9;border-radius:12px\" src=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/embed\/album\/3CaQTJU2Cpx7GXTgenmb2r?utm_source=generator\" width=\"100%\" height=\"352\" frameBorder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Gucci Mane \u2013 &#8216;Finesse the Plug&#8217; (2017)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ferby:<\/strong> This song by <a href=\"https:\/\/musicfeeds.com.au\/feeds\/gucci-mane\/\">Gucci Mane<\/a> was a huge part of my beginning in music production and my love for rap and trap music. At the time, I worked as a dishwasher at a restaurant. When it was time to close, my boyfriend and I would blast this song on the speakers while I mopped the floor, being a little too drunk in the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"--aspect-ratio:1.7777777777778;\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/QEdRYY4gRRk\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar &#8211; &#8216;family ties&#8217; (2021)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ferby:<\/strong> When someone asks me what&#8217;s my favourite song of all time, &#8216;family ties&#8217; always comes to mind. The music video is just as amazing. I\u2019ve crushed on <a href=\"https:\/\/musicfeeds.com.au\/feeds\/kendrick-lamar\/\">Kendrick<\/a> since primary school and will probably just keep doing so. <a href=\"https:\/\/musicfeeds.com.au\/feeds\/baby-keem\/\">Baby Keem<\/a> was a more recent discovery. His music is so refreshing and I wish it was mine. He\u2019s become a giant inspiration for me when it comes to music creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"--aspect-ratio:1.7777777777778;\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/v6HBZC9pZHQ\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cameron Paxton: <em>Dome Keeper, Vol. 1: The Engineer OST<\/em> (2022)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ferby:<\/strong> After a few years hunched over my laptop making trap songs on Ableton, I started to really appreciate video games and their soundtracks. I&#8217;m currently trying to combine video game-like sounds and synths with my girly trap-pop music. I think it\u2019s such a good combination. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I find this <a href=\"https:\/\/musicfeeds.com.au\/feeds\/cameron-paxton\/\">Cameron Paxton<\/a> soundtrack really beautiful. It&#8217;s an especially good thing for me to listen to when I&#8217;m programming.
